Meet Peter Porcaro — the Lawyer Who Used to Defend Insurance Companies

I’m a board-certified civil trial lawyer, a credential the Florida Bar awards to a small percentage of Florida lawyers. I spent my early career defending insurance companies. Now I use that playbook for injured people. Every case leaves this office trial-ready.

Before I opened Porcaro Law Group in 2015, I defended insurance carriers in courtrooms across Florida. I know how adjusters value claims, when they stall, and what makes them pay. I earned my B.S. in Biology from Penn State in 2003 and my J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2006. I was admitted to the Florida Bar (#31147) and the Pennsylvania Bar that same year.

You Get Me — Not a Case Manager. You get my direct attention from the first call to the final check. If the insurer won’t offer a fair number, I file suit and try the case. Insurance adjusters know my name. They know I don’t bluff.

Local Area

Serving Boynton Beach — From Quantum Park to the Heart of Boynton

We represent injured clients across Boynton Beach: Quantum Park, the Heart of Boynton, Old Boynton, Palm Beach Leisureville, Hunters Run, Chapel Hill, and the Canyon communities. More than 82,000 people live in this city across roughly 16 square miles, and 22.5% of residents are 65 or older. If you were hurt here, you’re our neighbor. We treat the case that way.

Our office sits in Delray Beach, 7 miles south on I-95/US-1 — about 10 minutes from most of Boynton Beach. Many of our clients come down Linton Boulevard from the Boynton line, and we’ve handled cases for families on both sides of it. If you’re just south of us, our Delray Beach personal injury attorney page covers that side of the county in detail. Our Boca Raton page covers the neighbors to the north.

The Process

Where Your Boynton Beach Case Gets Filed

You have two years from the date of your accident to file a personal injury lawsuit in Florida under §95.11. Miss that deadline and the court will almost certainly dismiss your case, no matter how strong it is. Most Boynton Beach injury cases are filed at the Palm Beach County Courthouse Main Branch, 205 N. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, in the 15th Judicial Circuit.

Two practical notes. First, you can track your own case online through eCaseView, the 15th Circuit’s public docket, so you’re never guessing where things stand. Second, if your case involves a car crash, Florida’s PIP law (§627.736) is still in force: get medical treatment within 14 days of the crash to protect your benefits. That clock starts the day of the accident, not the day you feel like going to the doctor.

What We See

Common Accident Situations in Boynton Beach

Palm Beach County recorded 26,550 crashes in 2024, according to the FLHSMV annual crash report. If your crash happened on Boynton Beach Boulevard, Congress Avenue, Woolbright Road, Federal Highway, or I-95, you were hurt on one of the corridors where most of them happen. For the full process from crash scene to settlement, start with our guide to what to do after a car accident in Florida.

Boynton Beach Boulevard feeds directly into the I-95 interchange. Congress Avenue and Woolbright Road carry commuter traffic past shopping centers, schools, and the city’s red-light camera intersections, which the city actively enforces. The same FLHSMV report found “failed to yield” was Florida’s most-cited driver action in 2024, with 162,616 drivers cited, and 314,251 people affected by intersection crashes statewide. That’s the pattern we see: a driver in a hurry, a light turning, someone guessing wrong.

Federal Highway cuts through the Heart of Boynton with narrow shoulders and heavy foot traffic. Ocean Avenue runs toward the beach. Countywide in 2024, there were 807 pedestrian crashes and 61 pedestrian deaths, plus 724 bicycle crashes. A person on foot has no crumple zone. These cases turn on witness statements and camera footage that disappears fast. That’s why we move on day one.

How Insurers Shift Fault in Boynton Beach Claims — and Why the 51% Rule Matters

Florida’s modified comparative negligence law (§768.81) allows you to recover damages only if you are 50% or less at fault for the crash. Pin 51% on you and you recover nothing. That single percentage point is why insurance adjusters fight fault so hard.

I spent years on the defense side, so I know the moves. They’ll take your recorded statement and mine it for “I didn’t see them” or “I was going a little fast.” They’ll stretch a rear-end collision into a “sudden stop” dispute. They’ll blame your injuries on an old accident. None of it is personal. It’s math: every point of fault they shift onto you reduces what they pay, and 51% ends the claim entirely.

Here’s my advice. Never guess about fault on the phone with an adjuster. Don’t apologize, don’t speculate, don’t guess at speeds or distances. Say less, and let me handle those conversations. I’ve sat in their chair. I know what they’re listening for.

Peter and staff were concerned with my case but early on more concerned with making sure I had proper medical care and made recommendations with the best physicians. They were in contact with me on a regular basis which made the entire process smooth. In the end my settlement was much better than I could have ever expected. Forget the the large impersonal firms call Peter and know you are in good hands.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Porcaro Law Group. From the moment I reached out, I felt like more than just a case number, they truly listened, cared, and made me feel supported during a really difficult time. After my accident, I was overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. Their team walked me through everything with so much patience and compassion. They explained the legal process clearly, kept me informed at every step, and always made time for my questions, no matter how small. What stood out the most was how hard they fought for me. You could tell they genuinely wanted the best outcome, and I never felt like I was being rushed or pressured into anything. They were professional, but also down-to-earth and easy to talk to, which made a stressful situation so much easier to handle. I’m truly grateful for everything they did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Porcaro Law Group to anyone who needs a personal injury attorney who actually cares and delivers results.

FAQ

Boynton Beach Personal Injury FAQs

How Long Do I Have to File a Personal Injury Claim in Florida?

Two years from the date of the accident. That’s the deadline under Florida’s negligence statute, and courts rarely excuse a missed one. Some cases carry shorter notice periods, like claims against a government entity, which can require action within years or even months. Call early so we can lock down your exact deadline before it costs you the case.

Nothing up front. We work on contingency: typically 33.3% pre-suit, 40% if we go to trial. No fees unless we win. I advance all costs — records, experts, filing fees. If we lose, you owe me nothing. I eat the costs. You’ll get those terms in writing before we start, and the first consultation is always free.

Call police and get a report. Get medical treatment within 14 days, even if you feel fine. Photograph the vehicles, the scene, and your injuries. Get the other driver’s insurance information. Then call me before you talk to any adjuster. Do not give a recorded statement. The early moves decide most cases, and I’d rather make them with you.

Florida PIP covers up to $10,000 in medical bills and lost wages after a crash — but only if you get treated within 14 days of the accident, under

You can still recover money if you’re 50% or less at fault. Your compensation drops by your percentage of fault, so 20% fault means 80% of the value. At 51%, Florida law bars recovery completely. Adjusters know this, which is why they push fault onto you. Never accept blame at the scene or on the phone. Let me handle that fight.
