If you were hurt on the coastal side of Delray Beach, the insurance company is already working your claim. Florida gives you two years to file, and your PIP benefits start shrinking the moment you miss the 14-day treatment window. I’m Peter Porcaro. I work on contingency — 33.3% or 40%, nothing up front. If we don’t win, you don’t pay.

I spent the first part of my career defending insurance companies. I learned how they value claims, when they fold, and what makes an adjuster pick up the phone. Now I use all of it against them.
I earned my B.S. in Biology from Penn State in 2003 and my J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2006. I’m licensed in Florida (Bar #31147) and Pennsylvania, and I’m board-certified in civil trial law — a credential the Florida Bar awards to a small percentage of Florida lawyers. It means a judge and other lawyers looked at my trial work and signed off on it.

My office at 401 Linton Blvd sits just west of the Intracoastal. If you’re on the island — the beachside condos, the A1A corridor, the streets off Atlantic Avenue — you go over the Linton Boulevard bridge and you’re at my door in minutes. No tolls, no hunting for parking, no driving to a satellite office that doesn’t exist because I don’t have one.
I take cases from the coastal side of Delray Beach because that’s where the crashes happen. Beach traffic on A1A and Ocean Boulevard. Cars stacking up when the bridge gates drop for a passing boat. Pedestrians crossing at the crosswalks by the Municipal Beach. Boats launching and docking at the marina. Condo residents walking their own streets and getting hit by drivers who treat Ocean Boulevard like a racetrack.
I’m not going to claim I serve every corner of Palm Beach County. I serve Delray Beach and the towns around it, and I know these roads because I drive them. When an adjuster hears my name on a coastal Delray case, they know I know where the crash happened and what that stretch of road looks like.
A1A and Ocean Boulevard carry a mix that makes them dangerous: beachgoers hunting for parking, cyclists riding the shoulder, joggers crossing mid-block, and out-of-town drivers who don’t know the road. In 2024, Palm Beach County recorded 26,550 crashes, 207 deaths, and 16,564 injuries. That’s not a statistic from somewhere else. It’s this county, these roads, last year. The county also logged 807 pedestrian crashes and 724 bicycle crashes in 2024, with 61 pedestrians killed. On a summer Saturday, the stretch of A1A near the beach is wall-to-wall with people who aren’t in cars. When a driver looks at a phone instead of a crosswalk, the person on foot loses every time.
If you live on the coastal side, you know the routine. You’re on the Linton Boulevard bridge and the gates drop for a sailboat. The same happens on George Bush Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue. Cars stack up in the queue, drivers get impatient, and someone following too close doesn’t stop in time. Rear-end collisions in the bridge queue are one of the most common crashes on the island. Low speed. High frustration. Bridge crashes also raise questions adjusters like to argue about: who was in the queue legally, who changed lanes, who was on the brakes. I’ve handled these. I know how to prove the other driver was tailgating even when they swear they weren’t.
The crosswalks near Delray Beach Municipal Beach carry a constant stream of people in flip-flops and swimsuits crossing between parking and the sand. Drivers coming off the bridges and onto the beachside streets are often still in highway mode. A pedestrian struck at even 25 miles per hour can end up with a fractured leg, a head injury, or worse. Florida law requires drivers to yield, but yielding requires looking, and looking requires putting the phone down.
The marina and the boat ramps bring their own mix: trailers backing down ramps at dawn, boats jockeying for the dock, drivers unfamiliar with towing, and pedestrians moving between dock and parking lot. Crashes in these lots and access roads can involve a car, a boat, or both at once. When that happens, you want a boat accident attorney who understands both the road rules and the water rules.
The condo corridors along the beachside are where residents walk to dinner, cross to the beach, and pull out of garage entrances onto busy streets. Older residents and slower pedestrians are a constant presence, and drivers rushing between the mainland and the beach don’t always account for them. When a condo resident is hit steps from their own front door, the injuries are often serious, and the case deserves a lawyer who treats it that way.
Consider hiring a boating accident attorney if you suffer serious injuries, face disputed liability, or believe negligence contributed to the accident. An attorney can investigate the incident, preserve evidence, identify potentially liable parties, and help pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and other damages. Seeking legal advice promptly can help protect your rights and ensure applicable filing deadlines are considered.
If you’re hurt on the coastal side, Delray Medical Center is at 5352 Linton Blvd with a 24-hour emergency room. From the island, you go straight over the Linton Boulevard bridge and you’re there in minutes. If you’re seriously hurt, take the ambulance. If you walk away and the pain shows up later — and it often does — go anyway and get checked.
Florida’s PIP law, Section 627.736, remains fully in force. It requires you to get medical treatment within 14 days of the crash to protect up to $10,000 in benefits. Miss that window and the insurance company has a reason to pay nothing, no matter how badly you’re hurt. Repeal bills have been proposed — the most recent died in committee in 2025 — and nothing has changed yet.
Here’s the other thing: adrenaline lies. People walk away from a crash feeling fine, then wake up two days later with a neck they can’t turn. The 14-day clock doesn’t care how you feel on day one. Go get evaluated, and document everything.
When you hire me, I advance all the costs of your case — medical records, experts, filing fees. You don’t pay me a dime out of pocket. I eat the costs, and if we lose, you owe me nothing for them.
If your case goes to court, it gets filed at the South County Courthouse, 200 W Atlantic Ave. From the coastal side of Delray, that’s a short drive — you’re on the mainland side of the bridge within minutes. You won’t need to go there often; I handle the filings. But it matters that your case is filed in the county where the crash happened, in front of local judges, by a lawyer who practices in this courthouse.
Florida gives you two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit under Section 95.11. Miss that deadline and your case is gone — the insurance company knows it, and their offer will drop to zero the day after it passes. The 14-day PIP window is even shorter. Treatment within 14 days protects your benefits. The filing deadline is two years. The evidence — skid marks, camera footage, witnesses who remember — fades faster than either one. The best time to call a lawyer is the same week as the crash, not the month before the deadline.
Here’s the fee, in plain numbers. I work on contingency, which means you pay nothing to hire me. If we settle your case before filing suit, my fee is typically 33.3% of the recovery. If we have to file a lawsuit and go to trial, it’s 40%. If we lose, you owe me nothing. Not for my time, not for the costs. I advance the medical records, the expert witnesses, the filing fees — I eat the costs. You never write me a check out of pocket, and you never get a bill from me while your case is pending.
I don’t bluff about this either way. If your case is small, I’ll tell you. If the insurance company’s first offer is fair, I’ll tell you that too.
Palm Beach County recorded 4,705 hit-and-run crashes in 2024. On the coastal side of Delray, they happen in the dark stretches of A1A after the beach empties out and in the parking lots behind the condos, where a driver can clip a car or a person and be gone before anyone gets a plate.
If the driver is never found, your own uninsured motorist coverage can still pay your claim, even though the other driver is unknown. That coverage is optional in Florida, and insurance companies fight these claims hard because they’re the ones paying. I’ve handled them. The claim is against your own insurer, and they don’t get a free pass just because the file says “unidentified driver.”
If you’ve been in a hit-and-run, the first hour matters. What to do after a car accident starts with calling police and getting treatment started inside the 14-day window.
I can’t give you a number on the first phone call, and any lawyer who does is guessing. What I can tell you is what drives the value: the severity of your injuries, the cost of your treatment, whether you’ll fully recover, the insurance limits available, and how the crash happened. A rear-end collision in the bridge queue with soft-tissue injuries is a different case than a pedestrian struck in a crosswalk with a fractured spine.
What I won’t do is promise you a calculator number to get you in the door. I’ll tell you the honest range once I’ve seen the records, and I’ll tell you when an offer is fair. Adjusters know my name, and they know I’m trial-ready. That’s worth real money in a settlement.
A lot of people don’t call a lawyer because they think they were partly to blame. Maybe they were walking outside a crosswalk, or they were stopped a little too close in the bridge queue. Under Florida’s comparative fault law, Section 768.81, being partly at fault does not bar your recovery. Your compensation gets reduced by your percentage of fault, and you’re only barred completely if you’re 51% or more at fault. If you were 20% at fault, you can still recover 80% of your damages. Don’t let an adjuster use your honesty against you before you know your rights. The mistakes that hurt your claim usually happen in the first week, and most of them are avoidable.
Getting to the office from the coastal side: Take the Linton Boulevard bridge west over the Intracoastal. The office is on the west side of the bridge at 401 Linton Blvd, Ste 202A. From I-95, take the Linton Boulevard exit and head east. Free parking on site.

Peter and staff were concerned with my case but early on more concerned with making sure I had proper medical care and made recommendations with the best physicians. They were in contact with me on a regular basis which made the entire process smooth. In the end my settlement was much better than I could have ever expected. Forget the the large impersonal firms call Peter and know you are in good hands.Posted on Google![]()

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Porcaro Law Group. From the moment I reached out, I felt like more than just a case number, they truly listened, cared, and made me feel supported during a really difficult time. After my accident, I was overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. Their team walked me through everything with so much patience and compassion. They explained the legal process clearly, kept me informed at every step, and always made time for my questions, no matter how small. What stood out the most was how hard they fought for me. You could tell they genuinely wanted the best outcome, and I never felt like I was being rushed or pressured into anything. They were professional, but also down-to-earth and easy to talk to, which made a stressful situation so much easier to handle. I’m truly grateful for everything they did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Porcaro Law Group to anyone who needs a personal injury attorney who actually cares and delivers results.Posted on Google![]()

Two years from the date of the crash. Florida’s statute of limitations under Section 95.11 gives you 24 months to file a personal injury lawsuit, and the deadline is strict — miss it and your case is gone, no matter how strong it was. Evidence fades faster than the deadline, so call early.
Florida’s PIP law requires you to get medical treatment within 14 days of a crash to protect up to $10,000 in benefits. Treatment means a doctor, ER, or urgent care — not a massage. Miss the window and the insurer can deny benefits entirely. Repeal bills have been proposed, the most recent died in committee in 2025, and nothing has changed yet.
Nothing up front. I work on contingency: typically 33.3% of the recovery if we settle before suit, 40% if we go to trial. If we lose, you owe nothing — not my fee, not the costs. I advance records, experts, and filing fees myself. You never pay out of pocket while your case is pending.
Under Florida’s comparative fault law, Section 768.81, partial fault does not bar recovery. Your compensation is reduced by your percentage of fault, and you’re only barred if you’re 51% or more at fault. If you were 20% responsible, you can still recover 80% of your damages. Don’t self-disqualify before talking to a lawyer.
Call police and get a report filed the same day. Get medical treatment within 14 days to protect your PIP benefits. Then check your uninsured motorist coverage — if the driver is never found, UM coverage pays your claim. Palm Beach County saw 4,705 hit-and-runs in 2024, and these claims are winnable with the right lawyer.
Car crashes are most of what I see, but not all of it. I represent injured people across a full injury practice.
