If you were hurt out west — along West Atlantic Avenue, on Lyons Road or Hagen Ranch Road, or near the Turnpike’s Exit 81 — the insurance company already has adjusters working your claim. Florida gives you two years to file, and only 14 days to protect your PIP benefits. My office sits 10 to 15 minutes east, and virtual consultations are available if you can’t make it in. You pay nothing unless we win.

I handle west Delray Beach cases myself. Not because I have to — because the person who got hit on Lyons Road deserves to talk to the lawyer who will actually try the case, not a case manager reading from a script.
Before I represented injured people, I worked insurance claims from the other side. I learned how carriers value cases, when they lowball, and what makes them pay. Now I use that against them. Insurance adjusters know my name, and they know I don’t bluff.
I earned my B.S. in Biology from Penn State in 2003 and my J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2006. I’m a member of the Florida Bar (#31147) and the Pennsylvania Bar, and I’m board-certified in civil trial law — a credential the Florida Bar awards to a small percentage of Florida lawyers.

| $415,000 | Premises Liability |

West Delray Beach runs from the gated-community entrances west of Jog Road out to the Turnpike. It’s a different world from the beach side. Master-planned communities with guard houses and guest-pass lines. The West Atlantic Avenue commercial corridor west of Jog Road, with its strip plazas and restaurants. And the quiet roads around the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens at 4000 Morikami Park Road, where visitor traffic stacks up on weekends.
I know these roads because I drive them. When a client calls after a crash at a community entrance or a rear-end collision in a West Atlantic turn lane, I don’t need a map to picture it. That local knowledge matters when the insurance company tries to tell you the crash happened the way their driver says it did.
My office is at 401 Linton Blvd — 10 to 15 minutes east of the western communities via Linton Blvd or Atlantic Avenue. I don’t have satellite offices, and I don’t need them. When you call, you get me, and when it’s time to sit down and go over your case, the drive is short.
Palm Beach County recorded 26,550 crashes, 207 deaths, and 16,564 injuries in 2024. A lot of them happen on the roads west Delray residents drive every day. Here’s where.
West Atlantic is the commercial spine of the western communities. Plazas, restaurants, and shopping centers line the road, and every one of them has a turn lane. Rear-end collisions pile up when drivers stop to turn and the car behind them doesn’t. If you were hit waiting to turn into a plaza or restaurant, you know exactly how this happens.
These are the western corridor’s commuter arteries. They carry residential traffic out to West Atlantic and the Turnpike every morning and back home every evening. Speed differences, left turns across traffic, and congested intersections make them crash-prone, especially during season when the roads fill up.
The Atlantic Avenue interchange is where highway speeds meet local traffic. Merging, exiting, and crossing traffic all converge in the same few hundred feet. Crashes here tend to be serious because of the speed involved.
Guard gates and guest-pass lines force traffic to stop where other drivers don’t expect it. Rear-end collisions at community entrances are a pattern I see again and again from west Delray clients.
Florida’s PIP law (§627.736) remains fully in force. If you were hurt in a crash, you must get medical treatment within 14 days to protect up to $10,000 in benefits. Wait longer and you can lose those benefits entirely, no matter how bad the crash was.
The nearest major hospital to west Delray Beach is Delray Medical Center, 5352 Linton Blvd, with a 24/7 emergency room. It’s a straight shot east from the western communities.
One more thing about waiting: adrenaline hides injuries. People walk away from a crash on Lyons Road feeling fine, then wake up three days later barely able to turn their neck. Get checked out anyway. The 14-day clock doesn’t care how you feel. Repeal bills have been proposed — the most recent died in committee in 2025 — and nothing has changed yet. The rule stands.
Building a case costs money: medical records, expert witnesses, filing fees. I advance all of it. You don’t write checks while your case is pending. If we don’t recover for you, you don’t pay me back.
If your case goes to court, it gets filed at the South County Courthouse on Atlantic Avenue, not the main courthouse an hour north in West Palm Beach. That’s the courthouse at 200 W Atlantic Ave in downtown Delray — close to home, close to me, and where Palm Beach County’s south-county injury cases are actually heard.
The deadline matters more than the venue. Florida law gives you two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit under §95.11. Two years sounds like a long time. It isn’t — not when evidence disappears, witnesses move, and the insurance company stalls for the first eighteen months.
And remember the second clock: the 14-day PIP window for medical treatment. Two deadlines, two clocks, and both start running the day of the crash. Call me early and I’ll make sure neither one sneaks up on you.
I take injury cases on contingency. My fee comes out of the recovery, not your pocket. The typical fee is 33.3% if we settle before a lawsuit is filed and 40% if we go to trial. If we lose, you owe me nothing. Not for my time, not for the costs. I eat the costs — medical records, expert witnesses, filing fees, all of it — and I only get paid if you do. That arrangement is why I don’t take cases I don’t believe in. My name goes on the work, and insurance adjusters know my name.
Palm Beach County recorded 4,705 hit-and-run crashes in 2024. If the driver who hit you left the scene and is never found, you may still have a claim through your own uninsured motorist coverage. That coverage exists for exactly this situation. Don’t assume a hit-and-run means there’s no case — call me and we’ll look at your policy.
Every case is different, but compensation generally covers medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. With 26,550 crashes in Palm Beach County in 2024, insurance companies process a high volume of claims — and volume is where lowball offers thrive. I won’t promise you a number over the phone. What I will do is review your medical records, your lost income, and how the injury changed your life, then tell you an honest range. Sometimes that range is smaller than you hoped. I don’t bluff.
Florida follows modified comparative negligence under §768.81. You can recover compensation if you were 50% at fault or less, but your recovery is reduced by your share of the fault. At 51% or more, recovery is barred. In real terms: if you were 20% at fault for a crash on Hagen Ranch Road and your case is worth $100,000, you’d recover $80,000. Insurance companies push fault onto you to shrink the check. Evidence decides fault, not the adjuster’s opinion.
If you were in a crash and you’re unsure what to do next, read what to do after a car accident. And before you talk to any insurance adjuster, know the mistakes that hurt your claim — a recorded statement given in the first 48 hours has cost clients real money.
One more number worth knowing: roughly 1 in 6 Florida drivers is uninsured. If one of them hits you, uninsured motorist coverage is often the only source of recovery. Check your policy before you need it.
Our office is 10 to 15 minutes east of the western communities. Take Linton Blvd or Atlantic Avenue straight east to 401 Linton Blvd, Suite 202A. If you’re coming from I-95, take the Linton Blvd exit and head east. Free parking.

Peter and staff were concerned with my case but early on more concerned with making sure I had proper medical care and made recommendations with the best physicians. They were in contact with me on a regular basis which made the entire process smooth. In the end my settlement was much better than I could have ever expected. Forget the the large impersonal firms call Peter and know you are in good hands.Posted on Google![]()

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Porcaro Law Group. From the moment I reached out, I felt like more than just a case number, they truly listened, cared, and made me feel supported during a really difficult time. After my accident, I was overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. Their team walked me through everything with so much patience and compassion. They explained the legal process clearly, kept me informed at every step, and always made time for my questions, no matter how small. What stood out the most was how hard they fought for me. You could tell they genuinely wanted the best outcome, and I never felt like I was being rushed or pressured into anything. They were professional, but also down-to-earth and easy to talk to, which made a stressful situation so much easier to handle. I’m truly grateful for everything they did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Porcaro Law Group to anyone who needs a personal injury attorney who actually cares and delivers results.Posted on Google![]()

Two years from the date of the injury, under Florida’s statute of limitations. Miss that deadline and you lose the right to sue, no matter how strong your case was. Evidence fades faster than the deadline, so call an attorney early.
Florida’s PIP law requires crash victims to get medical treatment within 14 days to access up to $10,000 in benefits. The law remains fully in force. Treatment must come from a doctor, urgent care, or hospital — and the clock starts the day of the crash.
Nothing upfront. Injury attorneys work on contingency: typically 33.3% of the recovery if the case settles before a lawsuit, 40% if it goes to trial. If there’s no recovery, you owe no attorney’s fee. The consultation is free.
You may still recover through your uninsured motorist coverage. Palm Beach County saw 4,705 hit-and-run crashes in 2024, and Florida requires insurers to offer UM coverage. If the driver is never identified, your own policy can pay your claim.
You can still recover if you were 50% at fault or less — reduced by your percentage of fault. At 51% or more, recovery is barred. Fault is decided by evidence: photos, reports, witnesses, and testimony, not the adjuster’s first opinion.
